| David Guerrero has been named the NECVA Metro Division Rookie of the Year. |
Guerrero, a 5-9 outside hitter, posted 341 kills in 87 games played as a rookie, good for a per game average of 3.92. Guerrero recorded at least 10 kills in 15 matches this past season, posted 20 kills two times and eclipsed the 30 kill plateau once for the Dolphins. His career best 31 kills came against Polytechnic in the semifinal round of the inaugural Skyline Conference Tournament.
Guerrero also led the squad in service aces in 2008, finishing the campaign with 53. He recorded at least one ace in all but seven matches this season and finished with a career-best nine against Webb Institute on March 12. He finished with multiple aces on 11 occasions in his rookie campaign. Guerrero also finished the season as the team leader in points with 411.0. He bettered the 20.0 point mark six times, including a career-high 31.5 on March 16 in the Semifinals of the Skyline Conference Tournament.
Guerrero also finished the season with 170 digs and 32 total blocks. He averaged 1.95 digs per game on the year and 0.37 blocks per contest for the Dolphins.
The Dolphins closed out the 2008 season with a 13-15 overall record and posted a 4-5 mark in NECVA Metro Division matches.
