Mount Saint Vincent’s Joe Blackford named Skyline Baseball Player of the Week

Joe Blackford has been named the Skyline Baseball Player of the Week.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore Joe Blackford (Stewartsville, NJ) has been named the Skyline Conference Baseball Player of the Week it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the second weekly honor for a Mount player through the season’s first two weekly reports.

Blackford was strong for the Dolphins in their first three games in Fort Pierce, Florida. Over those three games, Blackford registered two hits in each, going 6-9 over that span. He has also scored two runs, driven in three and recorded a double for the Mount, who fell to PSU-Behrend on Saturday before sweeping a doubleheader from Utica on Sunday. 

Heading into today’s action the Dolphins are winners of three straight after a 9-7 win over Carleton on Monday. The Mount will wrap up its southern swing with a doubleheader with Westminster this afternoon.
