Men’s Volleyball downed on the road at New Paltz
Guerrero post six kills to lead Dolphins
3/2/2008 - NEW PALTZ, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at New Paltz on Friday night. Scores of the match were 20-30, 12-30, and 20-30 in favor of the Hawks. Freshman David Guerreo (East Meadow, NY) and junior T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, NY) led the Mount with six kills apiece in the match.

Ryan Vogel (Holbrook, NY) and Fitzroy Lawson (Kingston, Jamaica) each had five winners in the contest, while Mike Quinn (Wantagh, NY) finished up with three for the Dolphins. Guerrero and Lawson recorded the only two service aces for Mount Saint Vincent in the match.

Pufhal led the squad in digs with seven, while Quinn recorded six to go along with a team-high 20 assists. John Furka (Massapequa, NY), Guerreo and Vogel each had three digs each on the night.

New Paltz was led by Ryan Huberty and mark Blair who recorded 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Stephen Pendleton posted a match-high 33 assists, while Pedro Medina recorded 13 digs.

The loss dropped the Dolphins to 8-13 overall on the season heading into Sunday’s tri-match with Medgar Evers and Villa Julie.
