Men’s Volleyball falls to #11 MIT
Guerrero, Ross finish with 11 kills each

CAMBRIDGE, MA – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team fell to #11 MIT on Sunday on the second day of the MIT Invitational. Freshman David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) and senior Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME) led the Mount with 11 kills each in the match.

Ross hit .450 in the match committing just two attack errors on 20 total attempts. He also contributed three assists and a service ace to go along with two total blocks and nine digs. Guerrero also finished with a pair of total blocks and three digs. Junior T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, NY) was the third member of the squad to post double-digit kills, as he finished the match with 10.

Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, NY) was again the team leader in assists with 27 and he also chipped in eight digs and two total blocks. Mike Quinn (Wantagh, NY) finished with 13 helpers and each of the setters posted a kill.

Phil Anselmo (Bronx, NY) led the squad with 10 digs, as the Dolphins finished the match with 35 as a team. They also hit .240 overall and finished the three game set with 43 winners. The Mount also finished with nine total blocks and four service aces.

The loss drops the Mount to 4-6 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be in action again on Wednesday night when they travel to Bard for a NECVA Metro match with the Raptors. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
