Women’s Swimming finishes fourth at Skyline Championships
Cabahug takes second in the 100-yard backstroke

The Women's Swimming team finished fourth at this year's Skyline Conference Champinships.
PURCHASE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Swimming team closed out the 2007-08 campaign with a fourth place finish at the Skyline Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon. Michelle Cabahug (Queens Village, NY) had a strong afternoon for the Dolphins as she took home the highest individual finish on the team, placing second in the 100-yard backstroke.

Cabahug earned her second place finish in the 100 back by swimming a time of 1:12.45. She also had a strong showing in the 200-yard backstroke event, as she placed fifth in a time of 2:44.16. The 5-2 sophomore also teamed with Andrea De La Torre (Valley Stream, NY), Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) and Katherine Maddock (Middletown, NY) on the 200-yard medley relay team that finished fourth in 2:21.09.

Kim Abbott (Malone, NY) also had a strong swim for the Mount on Saturday in the free style events. Abbott took home third place in the 200-yard free in a time of 2:26.31 and also finished fourth in the 50-yard free in 30.34 seconds and fifth in the 500 free in 6:59.08. Abbott also teamed with De La Torre, Maddock and Cabahug in the 400-yard freestyle relay and placed third in a time of 4:33.07

Other strong swims were turned in by Maddock who finished third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 30.20 seconds, Jillian Stark (Brooklyn, NY) who took fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:18.16 and De La Torre who finished fifth in the 100 free in a time of 1:09.01.

Mount Saint Mary won the women’s championship with 107 points. The Dolphins took home fourth with a total score of 38 points.
