Women’s Swimming falls to St. Joseph’s-Long Island, Mount Saint Mary
Cabahug, Abbott post individual wins for the Dolphins
1/28/2008 - PATCHOGUE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Swimming squad was defeated by St. Joseph’s (LI) and Mount Saint Mary in a Skyline Conference tri-meet on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins were downed by St. Joseph’s 52-29 and by Mount Saint Mary 76-12.

Michelle Cabahug (Queens Village, NY) took home a first place and two second place finishes for the Mount. Her time of 1:13.41 in the 100-yard backstroke was the winning time against St. Joseph’s, while that time placed her second against Mount Saint Mary. Cabahug also took second place against the Blue Knights in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.8 seconds.

Also having a strong day for the Dolphins was sophomore Kim Abbott (Malone, NY). Abbott posted the winning time in the 500-yard freestyle, besting the Golden Eagles with a time of 7:05.03. Her time in the event was also good for second place against Mount Saint Mary.

Following the meet, the Dolphins stand at 4-4 overall and 1-3 in Skyline Conference meets. The Mount will be back in the pool again on February 9 at the Skyline Conference Championships hosted by Purchase.
