Mount Saint Vincent’s Lester Owens ranked eighth nationally in assists per game
Sophomore handing out 7.3 helpers a game
12/19/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – In the first report of national statistics by the NCAA this week, Mount Saint Vincent point guard Lester Owens (Manalapan, NJ/St. Joseph’s-Metuchen) is ranked eighth in assists per game. The sophomore is averaging 7.3 helpers per contest and is also ranked 12th nationally in assist-to-turnover ration at 3.4.

Owens has dished out 51 assists through seven games this season, against just 15 turnovers. He has recorded two double-digit assist games so far this season, recording 14 against Alfred on November 17 and 12 against Centenary on November 20.

The national leader in assists per game is David Arseneault of Grinnell who is averaging 13.0 helpers per contest, while the leader in assist-to-turnover ration is Whitworth’s Ross Nakamura at 5.2.

At 3-4 overall on the season and 0-3 in Skyline Conference play, the Dolphins will travel to Atlanta to compete in Olgethorpe University’s tournament December 29 and 30.
