Mount Saint Vincent’s Liz Pezzello named Skyline Women’s Swimming Rookie of the Week
Mount Kisco, NY native won three medals at HVWAC Championships
12/10/2007 - LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Liz Pezzello (Mount Kisco, NY) has been named the Skyline Conference Women’s Swimming Rookie of the Week it was announced Monday afternoon. Pezzello helped the Dolphins to a second place finish at the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Championships on Friday by winning three total medals.
Pezzello won the gold medal in the 50-yard breaststroke by swimming a time of 32.24 seconds. Her time in the event marked a new HVWAC Championship meet record. The rookie would go on to win silver medals in the 100-yard Individual Medley and the 100-yard breaststroke in times of 1:13.49 and 1:17.32, respectively.
The Dolphins finished second with 315 points, just behind Purchase who won the event with a point total of 355.
The Mount will be back in the pool on January 26 when they take on Skyline rivals St. Joseph’s (LI) and Mount Saint Mary on January 26.
