Women’s Swimming upends Sarah Lawrence
Dolphins top Sarah Lawrence for the first time in six years
12/4/2007 - BRONXVILLE, NY – For the first time in six seasons the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Swimming team defeated Sarah Lawrence on Saturday afternoon. Michelle Cabahug (Queens Village, NY) and Liz Pezzello (Mount Kisco, NY) led the Dolphins to a 137-110 triumph with Cabahug winning two events and Pezzello taking first three times on Saturday.

oke events on Saturday. She posted her best time in the 100-yard back, swimming a time of 1:12.54. Pezzello dominated for the Dolphins on Saturday, posting wins in the 100-yard individual medley, the 50 and the 100-yard breaststroke.

Other winners for Mount Saint Vincent on the day included Megan Clark (Silver Spring, MD) in the 50-yard freestyle and Marie Garcia (Medford, MA) in the 50-yard butterfly.

“The girls have been working extremely hard,” said head coach Beth Clark following the meet. “Running stairs, doing cardio, lifting and swimming 4,500 yards a night; they put everything they had into it and their efforts paid off,” she continued.

The win improved the Mount to 4-2 overall on the season and to 3-1 in the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference. The Dolphins will be back in the pool on Friday, December 7 at the HVWAC Championships hosted by Sarah Lawrence. The meet is scheduled to being at 6:00 p.m.
