11/16/2007 - LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Basketball has been picked to finish seventh in the Skyline Conference Pre-Season Coaches Poll. The Dolphins received 36 points in the poll voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches.

On top of the poll is Farmingdale State followed by Old Westbury in second place. The Rams received 78 points, including six first place votes, while Old Westbury came in with 76 points and four first place votes. Also in the top five are

St. Joseph’s with 58 points, Yeshiva with 55 points and Mount Saint Mary with 49 points. Rounding out the field are Polytechnic (37), Mount Saint Vincent (36), Maritime (29), Bard (16), and Purchase (16).

The Dolphins return Captain Derek Charlton (Yonkers, NY), who is the team’s leading returning scorer and rebounder after posting 17.1 points and 8.2 boards per game last season. Sophomore Kevin Garlan (Jackson Heights, NY) also returns after posting 11.0 points per contest in his rookie campaign.
