Flaherty, Martinez named Second Team All-Skyline
Duo led Dolphins to first ever Skyline Tournament berth
11/13/2007 - LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – College of Mount Saint Vincent seniors Meghan Flaherty (Yonkers, NY) and Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY) have been named Second Team All-Skyline Conference it was announced on Tuesday morning. The tandem led the Mount to its first ever Skyline Tournament berth in 2007 as the sixth seed.

Flaherty led the Dolphins in kills in her senior campa ign with 268, good for a per game average of 2.

63. She also posted 50 assists on the year and 71 service aces, which was second on the team. Flaherty also posted 190 digs on the season, good for 1.86 per game. The 5-6 Outside Hitter recorded at least 10 kills in a match 11 times in 2007, posting a season high 21 winners against Polytechnic on October 19. Her season high in digs came on October 23 against Mount Saint Mary with 16.

Martinez also closed out her career on a high note, finishing second on the team with 184 kills. She was also the team leader with 62 total blocks, good for .65 per game. Martinez collected 10 or more kills seven times this season, including a season high 13 against Brooklyn College on October 20. Martinez finishes her career with 561 kills, including a career high 254 in 2006 and with 290 total blocks, including a career best 130 in 2005.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the season with a 16-16 overall record and a 4-5 mark in Skyline Conference matches.
