Cross Country teams close out season with strong showing at the NCAA North Atlantic Regional
Iribarne places 68th to lead the women’s team
11/12/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams closed out the 2007 season on Saturday morning at the NCAA North Atlantic Regional held at Van Cortlandt Park. The Dolphins’ top finishers were Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) in 68th place for the women and Albert Bararwandika (Riverdale, NY) in 217th place for the men.

Bararwandika paced the men’s squad for the second straight week, as he finished the 8K course at Van Cortlandt in a time of 31:05.2. Following Bararwandika in the scoring five for the Mount were Colin Galvin (Thiells, NY/N. Rockland) in 229th place, John Furka (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) in the 251st position, Joe Nickerson (Jersey City, NJ/Hudson Catholic) in 255th place,  and Andrew Murano in 256th place.

Iribarne closed out an impressive rookie campaign on Saturday with her 68th place finish. She completed the course in a time of 24:14.8 to lead the Dolphins. Following in the top five were Erin Davies (Islip, NY/Islip) in 182nd place, Ana Garcia (Kingwood, NJ/Livingston) in 212th place, Mary Eileen Kiernan (Rockaway Point, NY/Bishop Kearney) in 224th place, and Teresa Santini (Lynbrook, NY/Kellenberg) in the 231st position.

The Dolphins closed out a successful season on Saturday, which saw the men finish third at the HVMAC Championships and the women place fourth at the Skyline Championships.
