Patrick Gormley named Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Mount Saint Vincent
Gormley takes over team that posted 9-9 record last season
10/31/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – College of Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics Cathy Ingram has announced the hiring of Patrick Gormley as the school’s new Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Gormley joins Mount Saint Vincent after serving as the head varsity girl’s coach in the Long Beach Public School system from 1995-2007.

Gormley will bring a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the Mount. During his time with the Long Beach program, Gormley spearheaded the girl’s program that started in 1995. During his tenure he also oversaw the inception of the junior varsity program that started in 1996. In the capacity of coach, Gormley planned and directed all practices at all levels of the programs and his teams have posted an overall record of 28-18-3 since 2001.

During his time at Long Beach, Gormley mentored 10 All-Conference players, two All-County players and an All-County Honorable Mention selection. Gormely also assisted with coaching a youth league in cooperation with a parent club to further the development the sport of girl’s lacrosse in the community. 

Gormley is a 1994 graduate of the University of Hawaii-Hilo with a bachelor’s degree in European History. He holds a New York State Coaching License in both lacrosse and soccer and has been a member of US Lacrosse since 1995. Gormley holds certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

During his playing career Gormley was a member of the Nassau Community College team that won a National Championship in 1990.
