Women finish fourth at Skyline Championships, Iribarne wins individual title
Freshman wins race by 16 seconds
10/29/2007 - ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON - Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) earned All-Skyline Conference honors after winning the individual women’s championship at the Skyline Cross Country Championships on Sunday at Bard. The rookie becomes the first Skyline Champion at Mount Saint Vincent, as she bested the field in a time of 20:56. The team finished fourth overall out of eight competing teams with a point total of 98. St. Joseph’s (LI) won the women’s event with 41 points.

Iribarne , who ran a time of 21:47 at the Bard Invitational earlier in the season, topped her nearest competitor by 16 seconds in earning the win at the championships. Sunday marked the second career win in Iribarne’s short, but successful career.

Rounding out the scoring five for the Dolphins on Sunday were Erin Davies (Islip, NY) in 17th place with a time of 23:51, Ana Garcia (Kingwood, NJ) in the 22nd position with a time of 25:03, Mary Eileen Kiernan (Rockaway Point, NY) finished in the 26th spot with a time of 25:35, and Elizabeth Pezzello (Mount Kisco, NY) rounded out the scoring team in 32nd place, showing a time of 27:40.

The Cross Country teams will return to action on November 3 when they compete in the ECAC Championships.
