10/24/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Christina Pierre (Bronx, NY) has been tabbed at the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Week it was announced late Tuesday. The rookie middle blocker helped the Dolphins to a 2-3 week with 33 kills over the five matches.

Pierre posted 10 kills against Polytechnic on Friday at the Cougar Classic hosted by Kean University. Pierre followed that up with a career high 13 kills against Purchase on the second day of the Classic. For the week, Pierre averaged 1.94 kills per game, .41 digs per contest and totaled four total blocks.

The Dolphins stand at 12-13 overall on the season and at 3-4 in the Skyline Conference. The Dolphins will be back in action on Thursday when they host Sarah Lawrence on Senior Night. The match is scheduled to being at 7:00 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium.
