Iribarne runs to first collegiate win at St. Joseph’s Invitational
Freshman bests the field of 105 at Sunken Meadow State Park
10/22/2007 - KINGS PARK, NY – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) won her first collegiate race on Saturday at the St. Joseph’s Invitational held at Sunken Meadow State Park. Iribarne bested the 105 runner field in a time of 21:04 and helped the Dolphins to a seventh place finish in a field of 12 scoring teams. Colin Galvin (Theills, NY) led the men’s team with a 45th place finish in a time of 33:44.

Following Iribarne for the Dolphins were Erin Davies (Islip, NY) in 32nd place with a time of 24:39, Ana Garcia (Kingwood, NJ) who came in 53rd in 26:39, Mary Eileen Kiernan (Rockaway Point, NY) in 57th in 27:04 and Elizabeth Pezzello (Mount Kisco, NY) who placed 68th in a time of 27:42.

Following Galvin in the men’s scoring five were David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) in the 75th position with a time of 36:49, John Furka (Massapequa, NY) in 97th place in 39:31, Joe Nickerson (Jersey City, NJ) in 101st in 39:50 and Andrew Murano in 109th place in 42:43.

The Dolphins will be back on the trails Saturday for the Hudson Valley Men’s and Women’s Athletic Conference Championships and again on Sunday for the Skyline Conference Championships hosted by Bard.
