Farmingdale’s Andrew Wilby opened the scoring with his first of two goals at the 22:20 mark of the first half for the eventual game winning tally. He took a pass inside the box and fired a shot to the far post for the one goal advantage. He added his second at 27:03 when he took a free ball and chipped it in.
The Dolphins had several chances in the first half, including a Herrera shot that hit the post with the game scoreless. Herrera and Mike Hernandez (Ridgefield, NJ) also had strong chances late in the half, but Herrera was denied by Patric Gubbins and Hernandez lifted the rebound over the cross bar.
Farmingdale came out in the second half on fire, as they scored five times. Prince Eltosam led the charge with three goals in the half, all coming within eight minutes.
For the game, the Dolphins were out shot 20-9. Farmingdale also held the edge in corner kicks at 3-1, while fouls in the match were called 11-8 against the Rams.
At 3-10-1 overall on the season and 1-5 in Skyline Conference play, the Dolphins will return to the pitch on Wednesday when they host Mount Saint Mary. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers.
