Edeana Martinez named HVWAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week
Senior recorded 23 kills over three matchs
10/17/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – Senior middle blocker Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY) has been named the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week it was announced late Tuesday. Martinez totaled 23 kills in three matches to go along with seven total blocks, as the Dolphins went 2-1 last week.

Martinez started the week with a 10 kill performance in a 3-1 win at Saint Elizabeth on October 9. In addition, she contributed a dig and four solo blocks in the contest. Against Farmingdale State on October 13, she finished with three kills, a pair of assists, and three more solo blocks. Martinez closed out the week with 10 more kills in a 3-1 win over St. Joseph’s-Long Island. She also recorded a defensive dig and an assist in the match.

At 10-10 overall on the season and 7-1 in the HVWAC, the Dolphins will return to the court on Friday as part of the Cougar Classic hosted by Kean University. Mount Saint Vincent will open the tournament against the United State Merchant Marine Academy at 4:00 p.m., before tussling with Polytechnic at 6:00 p.m.
