10/15/2007 - YONKERS, NY – The Dolphins’ Women’s tennis team was defeated by Purchase at Tibbetts Brook Park 6-3 on Saturday afternoon. Karen Laurent (East Elmhurst, NY), Jackie Galgano (Stony Point, NY) and Jessica Lorenzen (Pembroke, NH) all picked up wins for the Dolphins. Prior to the match, three Mount Saint Vincent seniors, Carol Donnelly (Baldwin Harbor, NY), Megan Fraino (New City, NY), and Kathleen Nealon (Maspeth, NY), were honored for their contributions to the program on Senior Day.

Laurent picked up an abbreviated 10-7 win at second singles over Inna Karaseva on Saturday, while Galgano picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at third singles and Lorenzen a 6-1, forfeit victory at the fourth position.

Following the loss, the Dolphins stand at 5-8 overall on the season and 1-6 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back on the court on Monday, October 15 at 4:00 p.m. when they take on conference foe Yeshiva. The match is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park.
