10/2/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – Junior forward Mike Hernandez (Ridgefield, NJ) has been named the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week it was announced on Tuesday evening. The junior forward recorded seven of the Dolphins’ 10 goals over a three game span last week.

Hernandez got the week started off in a big way on September 24 when he tallied four goals in a 7-0 triumph over John Jay. He followed that up with a pair of goals in a 2-2 tie to the Culinary Institute, before finishing off the week with the game winning goal in the Mount’s 1-0 win over Polytechnic on Saturday.

For the season, Hernandez is the team leader in both goals with 10 and points with 23.

At 2-0-1 within the HVMAC and in first place, the Dolphins will return to the pitch on Saturday when they host St. Joseph’s (LI) at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
