Dolphins Down Pratt Institute 3-0 in Women’s Volleyball
Flaherty records eight kills in the win
9/26/2007 - BROOKLYN, NY – The Dolphins’ Women’s Volleyball squad improved to 7-7 on Tuesday night with a 3-0 win at Pratt Institute. Scores of the match were 30-19, 30-17, and 30-14 in favor of the Mount. Senior Meghan Flaherty (Yonkers, NY) led the Dolphins’ attack with eight kills.

Katie Balch (Peekskill, NY) continued her recent strong play on Tuesday with a seven kill performance, while rookie Christina Pierre (Bronx, NY) finished six winners for the Dolphins. Balch added seven digs, while Flaherty contributed three service aces to the winning effort.

Sophomore setter Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, NY) finished up the match with 14 assists to go along with four digs. Fellow setter Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, NY) added eight assists to go along with three kills and a service ace.

With the win the Dolphins return to the .500 mark on the season and improve to 5-0 in the HVWAC. The Mount will look to stay perfect in the league when it takes on St. Joseph’s of Brooklyn on Thursday night. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium.
