2003 Manhattanville graduate set to lead Dolphins
9/25/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – College of Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics Cathy Ingram has announced the hiring of Jonathan Feinstein as the new Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Feinstein had spent the previous two seasons with Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City as an assistant. Joining Feinstein on staff is former Saint Peter’s standout Sylvers Owusu.

While at Saint Peter’s, Feinstein coordinated recruiting visits, meals, transportation, and housing and entertainment. As a member of the Peacocks staff, Feinstein also ran on field training sessions, scouted opponents, and evaluated talent at both the high school and junior college level.

Prior to his stint in Jersey City, Feinstein served as an assistant at his Alma Mater from 2003-04. He was the first full time assistant in program history at Manhattanville and served as the interim head coach in 2003. In that capacity he was responsible for training sessions, recruiting, and opponent scouting. While at Manhattanville he helped guide the squad to consecutive Skyline Conference tournaments for the first time in program history.

Feinstein is also a prominent figure in local club soccer programs. He served as the Head Coach for the Westchester Select U14/U15 girl’s team in 2004. Feinstein is also the Co-Founder and Technical Director of the Feinstein Tagatac Soccer Academy. At the academy he coaches five teams and has mentored five athletes who are competing in the New York State Olympic Development Program (ODP).

A 2003 graduate of Manhattanville with a Bachelor of Arts, Feinstein also received his Masters from the school in 2004. He currently holds a United States Soccer Federation “C” Coaching License. He currently resides in Hastings, NY and works as Physical Education teacher in the NYC Public School system.

While at Saint Peter’s, Feinstein was able to mentor Owusu, who joins his staff as an assistant. A standout player with the Peacocks, Owusu has also coached at camps in Maine, Delaware, and New Jersey.

During his playing career, he served as a team captain for two seasons. He was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Rookie team as a freshman and also garnered All-MAAC honors later in his career. He was a member of the 2003 Saint Peter’s team that won the MAAC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Owusu currently resides in Newark, NJ.
