Mike Hernandez Named HVMAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week
Junior forward tallied eight points in a pair of games
9/25/2007 - RIVERDALE, NY – Junior forward Mike Hernandez (Ridgefield, NJ) has been named the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week it was announced Tuesday. Hernandez totaled three goals and a pair of assists for the Dolphins, who went 1-1 last week.

In a 6-1 win at Webb Institute, Hernandez notched a pair of goals to go along with two assists for a six point game. On Saturday, in the team’s Skyline Conference opener, Hernandez scored his third goal of the week in a 4-3 loss at Maritime.

For the season, Hernandez is the team leader in both goals (6) and points (14). He is tied for second on the team in assists with two.

Hernandez and the Dolphins will return to action on Wednesday when they take on the Culinary Institute. With a win over its HVMAC rival, the Mount can secure its third straight HVMAC regular season championship. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers.
