9/22/2007 - YONKERS, NY – Natalie Smith’s Women’s Soccer squad earned an impressive 3-0 win over Maritime on Saturday afternoon in Yonkers. The Dolphins got a pair of goals from Jessica McBain (Troy, NY) and senior goalkeeper Alexis Alessi (Rockville Centre, NY) recorded her second shutout of the season.

The Dolphins dominated from the outset, scoring the first goal of the contest just 5:53 into it. Senior Cynthia Osorio (Oceanside, NY) finished her second penalty kick of the season for the eventual game winning tally.

Mount Saint Vincent would add two more goals before the half, both coming from McBain, her first two markers of the season. She got the Dolphins an insurance goal at the 11:25 mark, before putting the game away at 21:26.

The Dolphins held the advantage in every category on Saturday. They out shot the Privateers 42-2 in the contest and held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks for the match. Fouls in the contest were 12-6 against Maritime.

Alessi had to make just one save in the game to record her second shutout of the season, and second in the Dolphins’ last three games.

At 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in the Skyline Conference, the Mount will be back on the pitch next Saturday to host league rival Polytechnic. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers on September 29th.
