Nursing
Education
Three advanced certificate programs in education are
available for students who hold a bachelor’s
degree: programs in middle-level education, multicultural
studies, and instructional technology and global
perspectives. Each program consists of three courses and
can be completed in one year of part-time study.
Nursing
Mount Saint Vincent offers three certificate programs for
nurses who have a master’s degree in nursing and at
least one year of nursing experience: the Family Nurse
Practitioner program, the Adult Nurse Practitioner
program, and the Nurse Educator program. Upon completion
of the program, graduates are eligible for certification
in New York State through the American Nurses
Credentialing Center and American Academy of Nurse
Practitioners.

Communication
The
certificate program in communication is designed for
professionals who want to advance their career and
develop important skills. The program consists of six
courses: Effective Speech Communication, Applied Computer
Graphics, Marketing, Organizational Communication, Public
Relations, and Public Speaking.
Information
Technology
Information technology professionals
can earn this certificate by taking four courses:
Introduction to Computers, Web Design and Development,
Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access/Excel. For

Marketing
Working adults may earn
a certificate in marketing by taking a series of six
conveniently scheduled evening courses: Marketing,
Advertising, Psychology of Consumers, Public Relations,
Internet Marketing, and Marketing Management. In small
classes, you’ll enhance your skills and advance
your career.
Organizational
Leadership
This program is designed to help students develop
leadership skills, including motivating employees,
building strong teams, maximizing resources, and
understanding legal issues in the workplace. The
certificate program is offered during evening hours and
consists of six courses: Human Resources Management,
Effective Speech Communication, Business Management,
Business Law for Managers, Business Ethics, and
Organizational Psychology.
Sociology/Criminology
Professionals
may earn a certificate in sociology/criminology by taking
a series of six courses: Introduction to Sociology,
Social Problems, Urban Sociology, Juvenile Delinquency,
Criminology, and Sociology of Deviance. This certificate
program is ideal for professionals in fields such as law
enforcement, government, or social service.
