Junior Michelle Yarger (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly HS) was named to the First Team for the second straight season as she enjoyed a year that put her among the best defenders in the Skyline Conference. Not only did Yarger lead a Dolphin defensive effort that saw the Mount allow nearly 50 fewer goals than they did during the 2006 campaign, but her 89 ground balls and 70 caused turnovers both led the Skyline Conference and placed her among the top-three nationally in both categories. Yarger is a candidate for Player of the Year honors in the Skyline Conference as the 2008 season approaches.

Junior Michelle Yarger earned First Team All-Conference honors for Women's Lacrosse for the second consecutive season after finishing among the top three in the nation in both ground balls and caused turnovers. The defender was one of five Dolphins named to the Skyline Conference All-Conference team after Mount Saint Vincent finished the 2007 campaign 9-7 and advanced to the Skyline Conference and ECAC Upstate/Metro Semifinals. |
Four Dolphins were named Second Team All-Conference, two of which earned All-Conference selections a year ago. Juniors Alexis Alessi (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside HS) and Chanel Comis (Durham, NC/Cardinal Gibbons) both enjoyed outstanding campaigns. Alessi was named the team's MVP after an outstanding season during which she guarded the opposition's top player in almost every game. She finished the season with an outstanding 53 ground balls, 63 draw controls, and 34 caused turnovers. Comis had another spectacular season. Despite missing three games, she finished the season with 32 goals, 34 points, 21 ground balls, and 13 draw controls. Comis is currently the Mount's all-time leading scorer with 118 points.
Two Dolphins are newcomers to the All-Conference team as junior Cyndi Adams (Mechanicsville, MD/Chopticon HS) and freshman Kelly Martin (North Rockland, NY/North Rockland HS) were terrific. After a 25-goal season in 2006, Adams exploded in 2007 for 41 goals and 45 total points. She also became the Mount's first-ever 100-goal scorer and currently has 104 for her career. Martin burst on the scene as a freshman and led the Mount in points with 53 as she had 39 goals and 14 assists showing tremendous improvement in nearly every game.
With only four seniors lost to graduation and every starter returning, and an outstanding recruiting class to boot, Mount Saint Vincent is very much a contender for their first ever Skyline Conference Championship in 2008.
