Dr. Solomos Fellowship responsibilities included evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, student health, game coverage at the collegiate, high school, amateur and mass participation events. She saw patients from the community, two Division I Universities, and a local high school. Also, she had responsibilities in primary care.
In her professional experience, Dr Solomos has been covering physician for Corning-Painted Post High School Football, covering physician for the St. Bona Shootout, on the medical team for the Wineglass Marathon, covering physician for Rutgers and Princeton University Sports, staff physician at Middlesex County College- responsible for pre participation examinations and athletic injuries, team physician for Old Bridge High School, assisted with coverage for New Jersey Olympic Development Soccer Events, volunteered for coverage of New York City Marathon, and acted as staff physician South Nassau Communities Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation. At Rutgers University (31 varsity intercollegiate sports teams) and Princeton University (36 teams), Dr. Solomos provided coverage for all sports, saw athletes for any medical concerns. At Princeton, she saw non-athlete students for musculoskeletal injuries and concerns. Dr. Solomos also preformed pre participation examinations for student-athletes at both institutions.
Dr. Solomos has assisted in numerous publications. She published a chapter on Orthopaedics in Saunders Review of Family Practice in collaboration with Dr. Sam Sandowski. Dr. Solomos has lectured and presented on numerous topics, such as The Female Athletes Triad, Pre-Participation Examinations, Exercise Prescription and Nutrition.
Currently Dr. Solomos is one of the sports medicine doctors at Hudson Valley Bone & Joint Surgeons, with offices in Hawthorne and Yonkers, NY.
