Softball pounds Marymount College 24-0 to break four-game losing streak
Dolphins score 16 first inning runs and cruise to victory; Angolillo goes 3 for 3 and scores five times; Troncoso hits home run; MSV hosts USMMA-Kings Point on Monday
4/13/2007 - (Riverdale, NY) - Senior Gina Angolillo (West Harrison, NY/Harrison HS) went 3 for 3, drove in three runs and scored five times, and sophomore Jillian Troncoso (West Haverstraw, NY/North Rockland HS) hit her second home run of the 2007 season as the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team pounded visiting Marymount College, 24-0 on Friday. With the win, Mount Saint Vincent is now 6-8 overall and 3-0 in Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) play.

Mount Saint Vincent set the tone immediately against Marymount, scoring 16 times during the first inning to break out to an insurmountable lead. After the first three Dolphins walked to start the game, freshman Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, NY/Our Lady of Victory) brought them all home with a triple to put the Mount ahead 3-0. Later on in the inning, with the Dolphins ahead 8-0, senior Jessica Piccoli (Yonkers, NY/Saunders HS) drove home two with a triple of her own to make it 10-0. Three batters later, Troncoso drilled a home run to deep left field to extend the lead to 14-0.

Mount Saint Vincent then scored four runs in the second inning, and three more in the fourth for their most decisive win of the 2007 season.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Monday, April 16 when they host USMMA-Kings Point for a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader.
