Ospreys defeat Men's Lacrosse in Skyline Conference battle
Reynolds nets hat-trick, Egan makes 10 saves; Dolphins host Mitchell College on Saturday
4/11/2007 - (Pomona, NJ) - Junior Jason Reynolds (Centereach, NY/Middle Country HS) netted a hat-trick and junior Tom Egan (Nyack, NY/Nyack HS) made 10 saves, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team lost its eighth straight game, 15-3 to Richard Stockton College on Wednesday night during a game played at Richard Stockton College in Pomona, N.J. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent is now 1-10 overall and 0-6 in Skyline Conference play.

Richard Stockton (5-5, 3-3 Skyline Conference) jumped out of the gate and took command of the game, scoring six times during the first quarter as they outshot the Mount, 14-3 during the stretch. The quarter could have been worse had it not been for Egan's five saves during the opening stanza. However, a 14-2 shooting advantage for the Ospreys led to two more Stockton goals during the second quarter, and the Mount trailed 8-0 at halftime.

Reynolds put the Mount on the board with 14:17 to play in the third quarter, scoring his 16th goal of the season off of a Billy Downes (Barkhamstead, CT/Northwest Catholic) assist to make it 8-1. But Stockton scored three times during a five-minute span to extend the lead to 11-1. Reynolds's second goal with 2:30 to play in the third quarter appeared to give the Mount some life heading into the final stanza, but Stockton scored three times during the final 2:19 of the third quarter to make it 14-2. Each team scored once during the fourth quarter for the 15-3 final.

Overall, the Mount was out-shot 50-15 and Stockton won 14 out of 22 face-offs.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, April 14 when they host Mitchell at 1:00 p.m. at Westchester Community College.
