Men's Tennis loses duel with Blue Knights; 8-1
Franz/Cangiano win at third doubles for second time in 2007; Dolphins host Sarah Lawrence on Friday
4/11/2007 - (Riverdale, NY) - Sophomore Tristan Franz (Brooklyn, NY/Xavier) and junior Vincent Cangiano (Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills HS) won for the second time this season at third doubles, and Franz and junior Michael Maurer (Hampton, NH/Winnaconnet HS) enjoyed terrific performances in singles action, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Tennis team lost 8-1 to visiting Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent is now 0-4 overall with all four losses coming to Skyline Conference competition.

Mount Saint Mary (3-6, 1-4 Skyline Conference) stormed through singles action with the closest matches coming at fifth and sixth singles as Franz dropped a 6-3, 6-4 match and Maurer battled, but lost 8-4 in the #6 spot. After the Blue Knights swept through singles play, they won the first two doubles matches, 8-2 and 8-1, setting up Franz and Cangiano's heroics in the final doubles spot. The duo engaged in a back-and-forth battle, ultimately giving the Mount a 9-7 win.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Friday, April 13 when they host Sarah Lawrence College at 4:00 p.m. for their Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) opener.
