Egan makes school record 26 saves, but Men's Lacrosse loses Skyline Conference battle to Rams, 13-3

3/28/2007 - (Farmingdale, NY) - Junior goalie Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet HS) made a school-record 26 saves and fellow junior Jason Reynolds (Centereach, NY/Middle Country HS) added a goal and an assist, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team lost its fifth straight game, 13-3 to Farmingdale State on Wednesday afternoon during a game played at Farmingdale. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent is now 1-7 overall, and 0-5 in Skyline Conference play.

The first quarter proved to be a battle as Farmingdale dominated time of possession, but thanks to Egan's heroics and a Reynolds goal at 11:14, the Mount held a 1-0 lead midway through the opening stanza. Farmingdale (2-5, 2-0 Skyline Conference) scored at 8:03 and again at 1:42 to take a 2-1 lead after the first quarter, but it wasn't easy for the Rams. Egan stopped seven out of eight shots during the first 15 minutes of play.

From there, Farmingdale took over the game, scoring four unanswered goals during the second quarter to take a 6-1 halftime lead, the Rams would ultimately score 12 in a row to make it a 12-1 game midway through the fourth quarter. Sophomore Ryan O'Dougherty (Morristown, NJ/Morristown HS) scored at 9:33 of the fourth quarter to break the Farmingdale run, and make it 12-2, and after a Farmingdale goal made it 13-2, and freshman Lamont Griffin (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman) scored his first career goal off of a Reynolds assist at 7:22 to make it a 13-3 game.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, March 31 when they travel to Alvernia College for a 1:00 p.m. game.
