Men's Lacrosse blanked by powerhouse Ducks to fall to 1-3
Egan makes 15 saves; Dolphin defense tightens during second half; MSV travels to DeSales on Thursday afternoon
3/13/2007 - (Hoboken, NJ) - Junior Tom Egan (Nyack, NY/Nyack HS) made 15 saves and the Dolphin defense played three outstanding quarters against one of the nation's top-10 teams, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team was shutout by the Stevens Institute of Technology, 23-0 during a game played at Stevens on Tuesday. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in Skyline Conference play.

The first quarter saw competitive play as Egan stopped seven of the first 12 shots he faced, and Mount Saint Vincent trailed 5-0 after the opening stanza. Stevens (3-1, 2-0 Skyline Conference) then exploded for 11 second quarter goals to extend the lead to 16-0 at halftime as the Ducks enjoyed a 35-4 edge in shots and won 16 of the game's first 18 face-offs.

The second half saw things change as the Mount Saint Vincent defense tightened up as the Mount allowed only seven goals during the final 30 minutes as Egan stopped six out of 13 shots during the final two quarters. The Mount held Stevens to only four shots and two goals during the fourth quarter.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, March 15 when they travel to DeSales University for a 3:30 p.m. game.
