Dolphins outscored 9-4 during second half after competitive first half; Jackson nets first career hat-trick; MSV faces SUNY Brockport on Thursday
3/13/2007 - (Wellington, FL) - Freshman Khrystina Jackson (West Islip, NY/West Islip HS) netted her first career hat-trick and junior Maureen Payne (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Marian) and freshman Katie Tucci (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville HS) scored two goals apiece, but the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team fell 18-10 on Monday night to Gordon College during a game played in Wellington, Florida as part of Mount Saint Vincent's Spring Training trip. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent is now 1-1.

Gordon (1-1) jumped out to a very quick 3-0 lead before three consecutive Mount Saint Vincent goals tied the score as Tucci scored twice and freshman Kelly Martin (North Rockland, NY/North Rockland HS) also scored during the run. However, a 4-0 Gordon run made it 7-3 before the Mount scored three in a row once again to make it 7-6 after a Payne goal with 12:05 left in the first half. The Fighting Scots scored with 7:37 remaining in the first half and then in the final 10 seconds of the opening half to take a 9-6 lead into halftime.

The second half saw Gordon score three times during the first 1:30 to essentially put the game away as the Fighting Scots dominated time of possession during the final 30 minutes. When Mount Saint Vincent had the ball, Gordon goalie Krista Bushong was there to make sure the Mount would not get any closer as she was stellar in net, making 15 saves.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, March 15 when they face SUNY AC powerhouse Brockport State at 7:00 p.m. in Wellington, Florida.
