The Mount set the tone right away, capturing 13 of 17 possible points in the 200-Yard Medley Relay after the Dolphins earned first and third place honors in that event. From there, Mount Saint Vincent captured first place in eight of the 14 events, and six second-place finishes to earn the win. Cabahug won the 500-Yard Backstroke in 33.66, nearly seven seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, and then breezed through the 100-Yard Backstroke in 1:17, nearly a whopping 23 seconds ahead of the event's runner-up. McGowan was equally dominant, winning the 50-Yard Breaststroke in 39.02 and the 100-Yard Breaststroke in 1:27.79.
Also capturing first place finishes were sophomore Megan Clark (Silver Spring, MD/St. John's Prep), who won the 500-Yard Freestyle in 7:03.59, 1:06 faster than the closest competitor, and freshman Andrea De La Torre (Valley Stream, NY/Mary Louis), who won the 200-Yard Freestyle in 2:41.86.
Saturday's tri-meet will begin at 12:00 p.m. and will mark the final team meet in the careers of McGowan, Robin Forcelli (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield HS), Angela Hernandez (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney), Patricia Ollquist (Belle Harbor, NY/Fontbonne Hall), and Sarah Sheridan (Hicksville, NY/Our Lady of Mercy).
