JV Basketball falls to HVMAC leading Bears despite best first half of 2006-07 season
Wright leads MSV with 16 points, Travis Page adds 14; Dolphins host Post University on Tuesday
2/4/2007 - (Riverdale, NY) - Senior Kareem Wright (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Hayes) scored a team-high 16 points, and freshman Travis Page (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Prep) added 14 points, but the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team fell to 0-5 in Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) play with a 91-66 loss to first place St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) during a game played at Mount Saint Vincent. With the loss, the Mount is now 5-12 overall heading into Tuesday's home game with Post University.

To say the least, this was game where the outcome was closer than the score indicated as Mount Saint Vincent played its finest first half of the season. Down 15 points, the Dolphins went on a torrid run, thanks to Wright and Page, and actually took a seven point lead with less than two minutes remaining in the first half. However, the Bears (15-6, 5-0 HVMAC) stormed back during the finals seconds of the first half and trimmed the Dolphin lead to 37-36 after 20 minutes.

The second half proved to be a different story as St. Joseph's completely took over, and outscored the Mount 55-29 during the final 20 minutes for the win. Nevertheless, the Mount proved to be a formidable foe to a St. Joseph's team that has only won one HVMAC game by less than 10 points this season.

Mount Saint Vincent's game with Post University on Tuesday evening begins at 7:00 p.m.
