JV Basketball gets back on track with 71-54 win over the Culinary Institute of America
Greaves nets first career triple-double; Kube, Wright lead Dolphins in scoring; MSV continues HVMAC slate on Saturday at Pratt
1/14/2007 - (Hyde Park, NY) - A 44-31 run during the second half of play gave the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team its first win of 2007, 71-54 over the Culinary Institute of America on Sunday during a game played at Culinary. With the win, Mount Saint Vincent is now 4-10 with several crucial Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) games coming up. The Mount travels to the Pratt Institute for a 7:00 p.m. HVMAC game on Saturday night.

The story of Sunday's game was the inspired play of freshman Deveron Greaves (Brooklyn, NY/Grand Street Campus HS). Greaves became the first player for any HVMAC team this season to record a triple-double as he scored 12 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and recorded an incredible 10 blocked shots, including eight during the first half. It was Greaves's play that allowed the Mount to pull ahead 27-23 after 20 minutes and play perhaps their finest half of the season during the second half.

It was during the second half that freshman Ralph Kube (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon HS) and senior Kareem Wright (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Hayes) took over as Kube finished with 19 points, while Wright chipped in 14.

Mount Saint Vincent will host Culinary on Saturday, Feb. 3.
