Women's Basketball scores 70-53 win over Saint Elizabeth, now one win away from HVWAC Regular Season Championship
Second half rally allows 6-5 Dolphins to break three-game losing streak; MSV hosts Stevens on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
1/13/2007 - (Riverdale, NY) - Freshman Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) scored a career-high 17 points to go with a game-high seven assists, and fellow freshman Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park HS) notched her fifth double-double of the season as a strong second half rally propelled the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team to a 70-53 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday. Up five at halftime, Mount Saint Vincent stormed to one of their finest halves of the season during the final 20 minutes, allowing for one of their biggest wins of the 2006-07 season against a much improved Saint Elizabeth team.

With the win, Mount Saint Vincent is now 6-5 overall and 3-0 in Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) play as the Dolphins seek the HVWAC Regular Season Championship title. The only obstacle between the Mount and the championship is the College of New Rochelle, who has yet to play an HVWAC game. One CNR loss in Conference will allow the Mount to clinch the HVWAC championship. CNR travels to the Mount on Monday, Jan. 22 for their first HVWAC game of the 2006-07 season, a game that could prove to be the de facto HVWAC Championship clincher game.

Also having big games for the Mount were freshman Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood HS), who scored 12 points, and junior Kaitlin Burud (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook HS) added nine points and nine rebounds.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 16 when they host Stevens at 7:00 p.m.
