JV Basketball sees three-game winning streak ended by HVMAC leading Bears, 96-60
Kube, White score 16 points apiece, Greaves grabs career-high 11 rebounds; Dolphins travel to face NYU JV on Tuesday
1/3/2007 - (Brooklyn, NY) - Freshman Ralph Kube (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon HS) and senior Kareem Wright (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman) scored a team-high 16 points apiece, and freshman Deveron Greaves (Brooklyn, NY/Grand Street Campus HS) had a career night, but the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end, 96-60 to current Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference leader St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) on Wednesday night during a game played at St. Joseph's. With the loss, the Mount falls to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in HVMAC play.

St. Joseph's (8-3, 2-0 HVMAC) took control early, outscoring the Mount 52-29 during the first half of play as the Bears shot an incredible 58% from the floor during the first 20 minutes, and forced 14 Mount Saint Vincent turnovers while commiting only five. Mount Saint Vincent owned a 19-13 rebounding edge during the first half, but their miscues combined with a 12-27 shooting half from the floor doomed the Dolphins.

The second half proved to be a different story as Kube scored 10 of his points during the final 20 minutes, and Greaves and Wright continued to dominate on the boards. Wright added eight rebounds to his efforts, while Greaves scored nine points and pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds and three blocked shots. Every Dolphin registered at least two points.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 9 when they travel to face the NYU JV team at 8:00 p.m. The Violets beat Mount Saint Vincent, 80-55 on Nov. 20 at Mount Saint Vincent.
