SJC nearly downs Skyline Conference powerhouse;
Yeshiva's Laufer becomes first Lady Mac to win weekly
award this season
12/19/2006 - Both St. Joseph's College and Yeshiva
University competed last week, and while neither registered
a win, both had outstanding individual performances that
warranted weekly awards as the Lady Bears nearly upset
Skyline Conference powerhouse Old Westbury behind an
outstanding performance by Lynette Reyes, and Yeshiva gave
Bard all they could handle, thanks in part to an
outstanding effort by Tova Laufer. Reyes and Laufer are
this week's Hudson Valley Women's Athletic
Conference (HVWAC) Player and Rookie of the Week,
respectively, as the HVWAC released the final weekly
basketball report of 2006 today.
