The program will take two years to complete if you have completed the science pre-requisites of Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology I, II and Microbiology. The science pre-requisites may be completed at the College or transferred from another institution. Candidates applying as transfer students to the College of Mount Saint Vincent must have earned a minimum grade of "B" in all required science courses transferred to the college and completed within the last five years. All required courses are offered at the New York City site (except Microbiology). We do not offer an evening or week-end program.
Classes (Lectures) are usually scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings. Class size is small so that students receive individualized attention. The clinical component ( hospital experience) of the program begins in a fall semester and a 3.0 GPA is required. The clinical component includes lectures usually on Wednesdays (2:30-6:30 PM) and two 6-hour days or one 12-hour day on Thursdays and/or Fridays at hospitals in the metropolitan New York area such as NYU Medical Center and Saint Vincents Medical Center.
You may apply online and the application fee is waived. Application deadlines are January 5th for the Spring semester and August 1st for the Fall semester.
