The Dolphin 200-Medley Relay team of Cabahug, McGowan, Marie Garcia (Medford, MA/Medford HS), and Andrea De La Torre (Valley Stream, NY/Mary Louis) opened the night in fine fashion, finishing in second place in the event, only seconds behind the Gryphons' top team, but the rest of the night belonged to Sarah Lawrence. The Gryphons earned first place in 12 events, and six times Sarah Lawrence earned both first and second place during event. The disparity made a Mount Saint Vincent comeback all but impossible.
McGowan was impressive as usual, winning the 50-Breast, and Cabahug earned an outstanding win in the 50-Back, but otherwise it was a tough night for the Mount.
Mount Saint Vincent has to bounce back right away as the Dolphins travel Saturday to the Skyline Conference Championships at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, Long Island. After the Thanksgiving break, the Mount will compete one more time at Sarah Lawrence this year on Friday, Dec. 1 as the Dolphins will compete at the HVWAC Championships.
