Former Mount Saint Vincent Swimming great Beth Clark is the new interim Head Coach at the Mount. The Dolphins travel to Saint Elizabeth on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. |
“I’m very excited that Beth Clark is taking over our Women’s Swimming program, a program that has achieved tremendous success with Beth serving as Team Captain during the last few years. When we first began a search for a new Head Coach, Beth’s name was one of the first to pop up. She has been a tremendous role model for this program as a competitor, and I believe she will continue to do the same as Head Coach. Beth has a tremendous future in coaching and I truly believe she is going to do great things at the Mount.”
While this is Clark’s first coaching stint, her experience in the pool speaks for itself and should provide huge dividends as she gets acclimated to the life of a college head coach. A four-year member of the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Swimming team, Clark was a two-time MVP, Team Captain, and led the Dolphins to a second place finish in the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Championships during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. At the HVWAC Championships, Clark earned a combined six medals during the last two years.
Prior to the Mount, Clark was a two-time Team Captain at St. John’s High School in Silver Spring, Maryland and has been a competitive swimmer since the age of six. She is also a member of the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team where she is in her second year as Team Captain.
After competing at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 29, the Dolphins will open head-to-head competition on Sunday, Nov. 5 when they travel to the College of Saint Elizabeth at 1:00 p.m.
