Dolphins to compete at home 10 times; non-conference slate features Skidmore College Tournament, NYU
10/19/2006 - (Riverdale, NY) - 10 home games and non-conference clashes with Ithaca, NYU, and CCNY highlight the 2006-07 Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball schedule as the Dolphins seek to recapture the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Championship after falling in last year's championship game, and make further strides in the Skyline Conference under second-year Head Coach Ed Ryder.

In total, the Mount will play 25 regular season games and two scrimmages, beginning with a Nov. 4 trip to Central Connecticut State University where the Dolphins will scrimmage the Division I Blue Devils. The following week the team will scrimmage future Skyline Conference competitor Purchase College.  Mount Saint Vincent will open their season in  Saratoga Springs, New York for the Skidmore College Tip-off Tournament where they will face Ithaca College on Nov. 18 at 4:00 p.m in the opening round. The next day, the Dolphins will face either Skidmore College or York College in the Championship/Consolation Round.

Mount Saint Vincent wastes no time immersing in their conference slates as the Dolphins travel to meet St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) in a rematch of last season's HVWAC Championship Game on Nov. 28. Two days later, the Dolphins host Marymount College for their 2006-07 home opener at 7:00 p.m. before beginning Skyline Conference play on Dec. 2 when Manhattanville visits the Mount. Mount Saint Vincent will conclude 2006 with six consecutive games against either HVWAC or Skyline Conference competition.

2007 brings with it one of the Mount's biggest challenges of the season right away as the Dolphins travel to meet national powerhouse NYU on January 2. Two days later, the Mount will play its final non-conference game of the 2006-07 season at CCNY, and then Mount Saint Vincent will conclude the regular season with 13 straight conference games. Among the highlights are a home/away series with seven-time defending Skyline Conference champion Mount Saint Mary on Jan. 10 (away) and Jan. 30 (home), and home tilts with Skyline Conference powerhouses USMMA-Kings Point on Jan. 18 and Old Westbury on Jan. 27. Mount Saint Vincent will play its final regular season home game on Feb. 12 as they host Farmingdale State. The HVWAC playoffs begin on Feb. 15 with the semifinals and finals coming on Feb. 17 and 18, respectively. The Skyline Conference playoffs begin on Feb. 20 with the semfinals and finals coming on Feb. 22 and 24, respectively.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the 2005-06 season with an 8-17 overall record that included a trip to the HVWAC Championship Game and Skyline Conference play-in game.
