Mount Saint Vincent has lost three straight games overall and are winless during their last five games (0-4-1) as they have been outscored 26-2 during that stretch.
The Cyclones (10-6, 5-1 Skyline Conference) wasted little time pulling ahead as they scored in the second minute when Chris Hill buried a Nelson Becerra crossing pass for a 1-0 lead. Despite the early tally, the teams played fairly even soccer for much of the first half. That was until the 30th minute when Centenary scored three times during a seven-minute span to blow the game wide open. Hill scored twice during the first half, as did Chris Guadagno, and the Cyclones led 4-0 at the break. From there, Centenary cruised to victory, scoring in the 65th minute to make it 5-0, and holding the Mount to seven shots, only two of which reached the goal. Centenary, on the other hand, took 26 shots.
Mount Saint Vincent sophomore goalie William Raftery (Bronx, NY/Salesian) made 11 saves during a solid effort despite allowing five goals.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 21 when they travel to Skyline Conference foe Old Westbury at 1:00 p.m. as the Dolphins look to score their first Skyline Conference win of 2006.
