Dedvukaj named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for Women's Volleyball
Freshman averages 2.42 kills and 2.58 digs per game during 2-1 week for Mount Saint Vincent
10/16/2006 - (Riverdale, NY) - Mount Saint Vincent freshman Michelle Dedvukaj (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for Women's Volleyball after an outstanding three-match stretch in which the Dolphins finished 2-1. The honor was Dedvukaj's second Rookie of the Week selection by the Skyline Conference this season as she was previously honored on Sept. 25.

Dedvukaj, an outside hitter, was phenomenal on the outside for the Mount last week, averaging 2.42 kills and 2.58 digs per game as the Dolphins swept Saint Elizabeth on Tuesday before being swept by Hunter College on Thursday. Two days later, the Mount stunned Baruch College, 3-2 during one of the most exciting matches of the season. During the two wins, Dedvukaj registered a combined 24 kills and 24 digs for one of her most successful stretches of play this season.

Dedvukaj has been the model of consistency for the Mount this season, as she is currently ranked second on the team with 1.98 kills per game, and second on the team with 2.51 digs per game as well.

Mount Saint Vincent is currently 10-7 overall, 3-4 in Skyline Conference play, and 5-1 in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC). Dedvukaj and company return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 17 when they travel to St. Joseph's (LI) for a 7:00 p.m. Skyline Conference match.
