10/10/2006 - (Riverdale, NY) – Freshman Michelle Dedvukaj (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine) registered a double-double with team highs in kills (14) and digs (14), junior Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine) added 14 kills, and freshman Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, NY/Lourdes) contributed 31 assists as the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball raced out to a 3-1 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth on Tuesday night during a match played at Mount Saint Vincent. With the win, Mount Saint Vincent improves to 9-6 overall, and 5-1 in Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) play. The Dolphins are also 5-1 at home.

Mount Saint Vincent won the first two games, 30-16 and 30-15 before Saint Elizabeth (6-10, 5-2 HVWAC) rallied for a 30-22 win in game three. Mount Saint Vincent closed out the match with a 30-23 win during game four.

Three Dolphins registered at least 10 kills as Dedvukaj and Martinez were outstanding, and senior Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) added 12 kills and nine digs. But the story of the night may have been Leonard, who’s precision sets were a major reason for the Mount’s incredible attacking evening.
