Senior Colloquium Projects
In one semester of their senior year, history majors are required to complete HIST 496: Colloquium, a one-semester course in which they will produce a substantial research paper.  Students choose their owntopics, and have submitted papers in recent years on subjects from the importance of Jacqueline Kennedy's style, to the life and career of Haile Selassie, to the 1930s Ukrainian famine.

They then write papers (see below for some sample papers) and create Powerpoint presentations on their subject, delivering a brief formal presentation at the end of the semester.  Colloquium presentations are open to the public; details about upcoming presentations will be available on this site, so check back!
