Lorenzen, Fraino victorious in singles play; Dolphins to host Pratt Institute on Saturday
9/9/2006 - (Riverdale, NY) – Sophomore Jessica Lorenzen (Pembroke, NH/Pembroke Academy) earned her first collegiate victory at fifth singles, and junior Megan Fraino (New City, NY/Clarkstown South HS) won at sixth singles, at  the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Tennis team 2006 season opener in front of a great crowd of Dolphin fans!  Family and friends came out to show their support  on Saturday as the Dolphins suffered  a close 6-3 loss to St. Joseph’s (LI). The match was the 2006 and Skyline Conference openers for both teams.

The match was close throughout with St. Joseph’s earning wins at first and second singles, but the Mount battled back to win at fifth and sixth singles. The third and fourth singles matches were thrillers as  freshman Noelle Ebbits (Long Island, NY/Newfield HS) and junior Megan Rochford (Lynbrook, NY/Malverne HS) put forth tremendous efforts, but both fell by 10-7 scores. The Golden Eagles clinched the win with a sweep during first doubles play.
