Men’s Tennis finishes fifth at HVMAC Championships
MacDonald reaches championship round of first singles flight; named HVMAC All-Conference
5/6/2006 - (Purchase, NY) – Senior Chris MacDonald (Farmingdale, NY/Nassau CC) turned in his finest performance of the 2006 season, storming through the first singles flight to the championship round, where he ultimately lost a tight match to Cooper Union’s Ralph Lonergan at Saturday’s Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Tennis Championship, held at Purchase College in Purchase, New York. For his efforts, MacDonald was named to the HVMAC All-Conference team.

Overall, Mount Saint Vincent finished fifth with eight points overall. The HVMAC Championship was captured by Cooper Union, who had 20 points. The Pratt Institute was the runner up with 14 points, and the Webb Institute and regular season champion Sarah Lawrence also finished ahead of the Mount with 12 and nine points, respectively.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the 2006 season with an 0-11 record, however the team was competing for the first time since the 2004 campaign. With MacDonald as the only graduating senior, the Dolphins are expected to be even more competitive when the 2007 campaign rolls around.
