Winter scores twice and Egan makes 18 saves, but Men’s Lacrosse falls 16-4 to Farmingdale State
Dolphins outscored 7-1 during pivotal second quarter and drop to 1-9
4/25/2006 - (New York, NY) – Junior Bryan Winter (Islip, NY/Islip HS) scored twice to increase his team scoring lead to 16 goals and sophomore Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet HS) enjoyed an incredible effort with 18 saves, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Lacrosse team lost its fourth straight game, 16-4 to Farmingdale State during a game played at CCNY on Tuesday. With the loss, the Dolphins drop to 1-9 for the 2006 season.

The first quarter was a back and forth affair as Farmingdale scored off of the opening face-off, but a Mike Hernandez (Ridgefield, NJ/Bergan Catholic) tally evened things, and the score remained that way until the final minutes of the quarter. The Rams scored three times during the final four minutes of the opening stanza to take a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes, but the game was closer than the score indicated.

The second quarter was all Farmingdale as the Rams went on a 7-1 run to take an 11-2 halftime lead. Seven different Rams found the back of the net during the first half alone, and the Mount was out-shot 45-13 for the game.

Also having a big game for Mount Saint Vincent was sophomore Jason Reynolds (Centereach, NY/Middle Country HS), who chipped in a goal and two assists.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, April 29 when they travel to York (PA) College for a 1:00 p.m. face-off.
